My hubby and I had the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous vegan five-course meal at Elixiba Plant Based Restaurant and Alchemy Bar in Byron Bay, and I must say it was an absolute BARGAIN!
This was a five-course plant-based banquet that came with any drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) for only $50! Not only that, but the food was healthy and balanced, and the menu was varied and interesting. It just ticked all my boxes! Not only was it great value, but the most important thing – it was super yummy.
My hubby and I, super happy at Elixiba!
For our drinks, I had the ‘pink flamingo’: grapefruit, cranberry damiana shaken margarita, with tequila and Himalayan salt. It was divine! My hubby had a craft beer from The Botanical Brewing Company, which has some healthy herbs in it, which was very interesting.

For the entreé, we decided to order the hand-cut spiced chips – both sweet and white potato in Elixiba’s signature spice mix. Alongside this, we also had the ‘living bruschetta’: sunflower seed and tapioca bread topped with gorgeous tomato salsa, vegan feta, caramelised onion and a balsamic reduction. This bread is actually gluten-free, which wasn’t written on the menu.

I absolutely had to order the famous ‘Coco-Mari’, which is coconut made into a calamari-like dish. Before we visited, I did some research into Elixiba and everybody seemed to be raving about this dish! I am super happy that we decided to order it because it was absolutely delish.

For our mains, we ordered the ‘Noble Nachos’: corn chips topped with spiced beans, salsa, chimichurri, sour cream and southwest sauce. Nachos is one of our favourite dishes so we were super keen to try these and loved them! And to make things even better – just absolutely loved the sauce in the nachos!
We also tried the orange sesame cauliflower nibbles: battered cauliflower. A little bit tangy and zesty, and a little bit sweet too, which made the cauliflower taste a little bit like teriyaki. I must say that the garlic aioli for the entreé and was absolutely divine; probably so good I could drink it straight!

After enjoying the delicious savoury entreés and mains, it was time to enjoy something sweet! We both ordered a serving of the ‘Raspberry Fields’: layers of chocolate, coconut mousse, crunchy biscuit and raspberry chia compote. It was divine! Very rich, yummy, but also healthy… what else could you want?
After enjoying so much food, we were so incredibly full (but still wanted to try more!) so we just had to take one of the desserts with us to enjoy the next day.

I found the restaurant service to be amazing, and it had a good positive vibe! We sat down to find our plates with these gorgeous little inspiring quotes which was a lovely positive touch to the whole dining experience.
Elixiba’s positive cards – how lovely!
