Astounding Health Benefits of Yomogi

Yomogi is an aromatic Japanese herb full of antioxidants and health benefits. Also known as mugwort, it has been used traditionally in Japanese dishes and medicine.

What is Yomogi?

Yomogi is very popular in Japan to use Yomogi in wagashi, mochi or dango. It has a delightful flavour that blends well with the sweetness of desserts, especially when coupled with azuki an (red bean filling).

To use in baths, simply put it in a mesh bag and let it sit in your bathwater, as shown in the image below. Yomogi baths are known for rejuvenating your skin and alleviating inflammation. Enjoy a relaxing and energising bath!

After you have used Yomogi for an occasion, save it for the next, by placing it inside a zip lock like the image below and leaving it in the freezer.

This is an easy way to preserve yomogi without having to go through the struggles of preparing it every time!

I picked fresh yomogi from the mountains and prepared the dango from scratch. After chopping the yomogi into fine pieces, I blend it with shiratama powder and water.
