Vegan Dinner at Eden in Bondi Beach

I have been wanting to dine at Eden for a while. I’ve tried twice before but both times it was fully booked out (well, I was a bit silly turning up on Sunday without a booking …)

Anyway, to say the conclusion – it was well worth the wait to dine here. We both really enjoyed it!

For the entrée we had a Tokyo slider. Basically it’s a Japanese fusion burger and since me and my friends are both Japanese it is no surprise that we both enjoyed it!

The Tokyo Sliders were made from fried chik’n with wasabi mayo, organic kimchi, fried nori with cos lettuce on a charcoal slider. We absolutely loved the golden brown crumbed vegan chicken with crunchy lettuce paired with mayo.

Even though we both enjoyed it, we had no idea that we would regret ordering these later on …

Another entrée, we had were the Stuffed Mushrooms.

I studied the menu before the visit as usual and I already made a decision to order the stuffed mushroom no matter what. And I was so right with this choice because this yummy mushroom was delicious! The stuffed mushrooms were served with a parsnip puree and red wine jus.

When they are arrived, I could already smell the lovely cheese and tomato based sauce. The flavour was just amazing and when eaten with the rich and creamy turnip puree, it was absolutely divine.

For main, again, I was pre determined to order this pizza.  And I am glad my friend also picked to eat this pizza from the menu

Even the pizza was so green and looks so healthy! They were definitely much tastier than I expected. The mozzarella cheese was so creamy and flavourful with amazing texture with green pesto which is nothing taste like grassy kale

Feta flavour was a bit far away from real feta taste, but nevertheless I still liked the flavour of it. The addition of the crisp peppery rockets on the rich flavourful pizza was an amazing combination.

Although the pizza base was thin the edges were quite thick so the pizza was very filling and at this stage we were so full and happy.

Then another main arrived as  we ordered the gnocchi made from pan fried sweet potato with garlic sage butter, alfredo & kale topped with parsley and parmesan! I really liked the sauce. So rich and full of flavour .

But for me gnocchi needs to be made from potato so if this gnocchi was made from potato with extra kale placed in it, it would be much better!

We were so full so we could just eat less then 10 pieces of gnocchi and took the rest home!

Golden Gnocchi $28 – loved the sauce so much!

The restaurant was absolutely packed, so the gnocchi came so late and our side dish didn’t turn up. Normally, this isn’t fabulous but we were lucky this time if the side came we would be super full and be unable to enjoy our dessert.

Even though we both were super full, we ordered a doughnut sandwich for dessert.

Doughnut glaze is normally sickingly sweet but the way they used the pink pitaya glaze wasn’t that sweet which I loved.

 Doughnut Sandwich $19

When we ate the doughnuts, we both had such a nostalgic feeling as if we have tasted it before. Then we realised it tastes like the fried bread that is served in Japanese primary schools.

As we are both from Kanto (I am from Tokyo and she is from Kanagawa – next prefecture to Tokyo) and similar age so we ate similar school food.

All in all, I am delighted to tell you that Eden is one of my top 10 Sydney vegan eateries now.  I highly recommend trying them out. Just be careful to order not too many carbohydrate rich foods like us.
