It is so great to see more and more plant based restaurant opening in Sydney. And this place is definitely my kind of place – healthy with an interesting menu!
Some plant based places aren’t so healthy but this place is genuinely top class healthy place.
Shopfront
I live by the same motto as this restaurant.
“Let food be your medicine” and they truly follow this motto.
The Elixir mocktail – $9
This good looking drink is refreshing mocktail made from watermelon, kiwi, mint, ginger and agave syrup. I love that they use agave syrup and no refined sugars, it makes makes it tastes yummy and sweet but also healthy!
I wanted to order vegan moussaka but unfortunately it was sold out. So I went for salad which is very unusual for me, but I think I choose it because I knew that I would binge on some sweets later on…! And I am glad I did.
Pythagoras – $14.99
Pythagoras consisted of vegan tuna with vegetables and seeds. The ‘tuna’ was made from jackfruit that was soaked in seaweed, yummy!
‘Tuna’ in the Pythagoras salad
The amount of vegan tuna was very generous!!! Seriously a lot!!!!
Hippocrates – $14
This salad was a Special of the day – a lovely combination of tomato, apple rocket, walnuts tossed with vegan aioli and fresh basil pesto. This basil pesto is made from fresh organic basil that is picked freshly on the day from the owner of the restaurant’s garden.
Sooo fresh, you can’t get fresher pesto than this.
And then it was time for dessert.
I really LOVE their desserts!
They are not only beautiful and yummy but also so healthy! No refined sugar is used plus they are gluten free!
Hercules – $9
A classic, tiramisu but of course vegan and healthy.
Aphrodite – $9
A vegan cheesecake, made with coconut and cashew cream with dates and a delicious strawberry jam.
Odysseus – $9
A raw carrot cake with cashew cream and lime.
I am shocked with the prices – it is too cheap for such great quality cakes.
Quite often raw cakes are over $10 and size is smaller.
My most favourite … well it is very hard to pick because all of them were absolutely yummy.
I used to live so close to this place.. I could have walked. I wish they opened much earlier so I could have gone more often because it can be hard to find yummy and healthy food, don’t you agree?
Many plant based restaurants that are genuinely passionate health, high quality food and a tasty menu quite often are not able to sustain the business because the food cost is too high as well as lots of prep time for a detailed cooking process. I really want this place to stay open for a long tie! Let’s support this place by dining there!
