Manna Haven Cafe Restaurant offering healthy plant based meals. It is an off shoot of the Manna Haven non for profit organisation, which means all profit is donated to their charity.
For this reason, all the chefs are volunteers so I must admit that I didn’t have high expectations. I expected the volunteers to not have much experience and therefore thought it would be quite average food.
Manna Haven Cafe Restaurant
But my guesses were thankfully wrong!
The food was so yummy, and I left feeling so nourished after my meal. Which happens a lot in Byron, I guess it is because all the restaurants use such fresh produce and cook with care, it makes my body very happy!
My hubby said he wanted to go back – unfortunately I had a big list of restaurants I wanted to visit in Byron so we couldn’t, but I will definitely be back next time I am in Byron Bay.
Their menu is revised every week according to seasonality and the availability of locally sourced fresh produce. We went to end of the lunch time so didn’t have many choices but still we fully enjoyed the meal.
My Hubby’s plate
Pumpkin and mushroom Lasagna, Spinach and pumpkin salad, Hummus and Pastry with spinach filling
My plate
Green salad, Pastry with spinach filling and Veggies and lentil curry
All were very yummy!
It was so relaxing to dine outside in their lovely garden.
They refresh their menu every week, so there’s always something interesting and delicious to try!
This café is only open at lunch time. Whilst we were extremely full and unable to fit in dessert, I wanted to try more, so we got a take away cake for later and to enjoy with a matcha soy latte.
Vegan chocolate mousse cheesecake w/ tofu cream
The takeaway dessert we got was a vegan chocolate mousse cheese cake with tofu cream. The cream didn’t taste at all like tofu (thank god!) and the cake was so smooth, rich and yummy.
