Here’s how to make a refreshing iced matcha latte for health and beauty benefits.
Health and beauty boosting iced matcha latte
WHAT MAKES THIS ICED LATTE HEALTH AND BEAUTY BOOSTING?
Matcha is a superfood that provides many health and beauty benefits
These include everything from helping with weight loss, anti-ageing, alkalising and reducing inflammation, to preventing heart and brain diseases and the list goes on! It’s a natural source of caffeine that provides a gradual boost of energy, and studies even suggest that matcha posseses anti-depressant properties, is there anything matcha can’t do?
WELL, IT CAN’T WORK ITS MAGIC IF MIXED WITH DAIRY!
If you want to take advantage of matcha’s health and beauty benefits, you must avoid mixing dairy products with matcha! The catechin called EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which is responsible for most of matcha’s health and beauty benefits, is not able to be absorbed in your body when consumed with dairy products.
- 1 tsp of matcha powder
- 150ml of non-dairy milk (I used soy)
- 100ml of room temperature water
- some ice
- A glass or cup
- A jar with a lid
- In your jar, mix 1 tsp of matcha powder with 100ml of room temperature water
- Screw on the jar lid and shake until the matcha has fully dissolved in the water
- Grab your glass and fill it halfway with ice
- Pour over 150ml of your non-dairy milk
- Then pour the dissolved matcha liquid into the glass, and mix with a spoon
- Enjoy your refreshing cup of iced matcha
This iced matcha is the perfect drink to cool off with on a hot day!
