I wanted to go to Alibi for a while since I had an amazing dining experience by Matthew Kenney in LA.

Now we can have Matthew Kenney foods in Sydney, how exciting!
We ordered vegan sampling menu, the vegan course started from this good looking Kimchi Dumplings.
KIMCHI DUMPLINGS — RED CABBAGE PUREE. GINGER FOAM.
Hate kimchi? Don’t worry, these dumplings don’t have a strong flavour like typical Korean kimchi.
These dumplings are actually RAW, so don’t expect steaming hot dumpling.
WATERMELON POKE — KALE. PICKLED GINGER. MACADAMIA. MINT. PONZU-LIME DRESSING.
This dish was served with very generous macadamia nuts!
CHARCOAL STEAMED BUNS — ROAST CARROT. CASHEW HOISIN. PICKLED RED CABBAGE.
RAINBOW CARROT PIZZA — CHILLI CASHEW MOZZARELLA SPICY HERB OIL. TOASTED PUMPKIN SEED.
This pizza is not part of the sampling menu, but my hubby insists to have guilt and dairy free pizza.
Macadamia cheese was very nice but we both are not a big fan of carrot so we should have ordered tomato pizza! Damn!
GREEN PAPAYA — DAIKON. SESAME-GINGER DRESSING. ALMOND.
KELP NOODLES CACIO E PEPE — PEA SPROUTS. SNOW PEAS. OLIVE.
This is my most favourite dish!
By the way, the green on the plate is not part of the plate, this is actually green olive paste. Isn’t it beautiful?
SLOW COOKED CARROTS — LEMON VERBENA YOGHURT. SUNFLOWER SEEDS.
This is my least favourite dish. The carrot was overcooked and not good texture to be honest…
For desserts, we had a gorgeous coconut cream pie and a pavlova!!
COCONUT CREAM PIE — BANANA. CRISPY COCONUT.
PAVLOVA — AQUFABA MERINGUE. MACADAMIA SORBET.
I must admit that the restaurant in LA was just too amazing — so Sydney one wasn’t as fabulous as the LA restaurant. Besides, the sampling menu was a bit too “healthy” for me hehe.
