Folk is one of my hubby and I’s favourite plant-based cafés in Byron Bay and it was absolutely at the top of my Byron must-visit list! I am so happy that we went and enjoyed a ravishing and nourishing meal there!
My smoothie-loving hubby ordered a green smoothie. For me, I can make a smoothie very easily (yes, I tend to order something that is hard to make at home) so I ordered an organic Elixir– it is a house-brewed vanilla and strawberry kefir. I love fermented food and drink but I failed to make kefir a few times and I haven’t made any kefir drink or yoghurt so it was fabulous to be able to have it. And the great news is… It was soooo YUMMY!!!
Green Dream Smoothie $9.5- banana, mango, greens, mint & coco
House brewed Vanilla & Strawberry Kefir (Probiotic Creaming Soda) $7
For our lunch, we ordered the Burrito–in the Folk review, so many people were raving about their Burrito so I recommended it to my Burrito-loving hubby to order. Did he like it? He wanted to go back the very next day! He just loves it so much.
Folk Burrito $18- Spiced biodynamic brown rice & quinoa, organic black beans, spiced kraut, cumin roast pumpkin, avo, smokey BBQ, garden greens
Another dish that has so many reviews was the pancake, but I am up for a savoury meal and as you know, I am Japanese so I ordered the soba noodle salad- it had a tangy dressing with a spicy kick! I love spicy foods but if you are not good with spicy foods, don’t order it as it was quite spicy, which I really enjoyed! As you can see, it is just so tasty but also colourful and pretty.
Soba Noodle Salad $19- Roasted broccolini & sweet sesame, turmeric spiced cashews, fried shallots, baby garden greens, house ponzu & XO
After eating here, we both felt so happy and healthy. Folk uses local fresh produce and I can feel that my body is feeling so nourished with all the goodness in the foods that were served. Next time I go back to Byron, we will definitely come here again and I will not only have savoury meals but also their chai and cake too!
