“I have been collecting cookbooks from around the world but this is by far the best I have ever seen. I have already made 3 tofu cheesecakes for my family because they love it so much.” – Sandra Garrett
Master how to cook delicious and healthy meals and desserts using various types of soy products with Yoshiko’s easy-to-follow recipes and beautiful photography.
Cooking with Soy is packed with stunning main meals, sweet dishes and snacks using the full range of soy products; tofu, miso, edamame, tempeh, aburaage (deep-fried tofu) and okara (soy pulp).
This is soy cooking for everything from Asian cuisine to European cuisines, and much more! There is truly something for everyone and every occasion.
Yoshiko learnt how to cook from a range of different sources including a culinary school in Japan and on site while working in an eclectic range of restaurants from the traditional to three hat level, with a variety of different cuisines. Cooking with Soy incorporates all of this experience as well as her time spent with a reputable healthy detox and gluten free catering company in Sydney, Australia into one easy-to-follow recipe book.
This book is perfect for people who:
have no clue what to do with tofu
hate tofu or know a tofu hater
are a tofu and edamame lover like Yoshiko
are just looking for new delicious recipes to try
are vegetarian or vegan
would like to eat well and be healthy
would like to increase their plant-based diet
are lactose intolerant
have a wheat intolerance
are allergic to eggs.
Cooking with Soy is available from all good bookstores in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, UK and the USA.
Yoshiko has written a cookbook that works. You know that experience where you buy a cookbook and try a few recipes, and some work and some don’t? Well this isn’t the case with Cooking with Soy. Sure, I thought the title was a little bit bleh and the design of the cover made me feel like I wasn’t going to enjoy the insides….but once you’re inside, you’re in for a treat. There are new twists on classics and somethings you’ve never heard of before…. The first thing we tried was salt and pepper tofu and we were amazed. It was the best version of that dish we’d ever tried. Her take on kakiage on Udon has made its way into our regular rotation of meals. There are more things we want to try than not, but keep repeating some of the things we love because like I said before. They work. Vegan ramen? Sign us up forever!

I love Yoshiko’s book!
It is firstly extremely informative, anything you ever wanted to know about soy or tofu has been covered. All the different types of soy products and how to use them have been listed as well as different types of tofu and how to use them. The recipes are clear and easy to follow and the photos present the foods beautifully! We have added quite a few of these recipes to our family favourites list! Amazing book and amazing value. I look forward to Yoshiko’s next book.

Full of easy and delicious recipes! I love this book!Firstly, all recipes have beautiful pictures. Some recipes even have step by step pictures which I found interesting and helpful! For me, I find the pictures are extremely helpful, so it is perfect for me. Also what is really cool – The recipes are a mixture of Asian and Western style, simple and easy to follow and best of all – delicious! Also – what I love about this book is that it has ” vegan” (dairy and egg free) and gluten free cooking options so I can easily adjust for my friends who have allergies or specific dietary needs. OUTSTANDING!
